Your Ladakh winter expedition begins with your arrival at Leh Airport, where you are greeted and transferred to your hotel. The first day is dedicated to acclimatization—an essential step to adjust to the high altitude of Leh. After settling in, you may take a gentle stroll through the Leh Market in the evening before resting overnight. The following day is devoted to exploring Leh’s cultural and spiritual landmarks, including the serene Shanti Stupa, the historic Leh Palace, and the monasteries of Thiksey and Shey, with time to browse the local handicraft market before retiring to your hotel.
Your journey then takes you toward the stunning Nubra Valley, crossing the iconic Khardung La Pass, one of the highest motorable roads in the world. After breakfast, begin your scenic drive to Hanle, a remote and beautiful region located deep within the Changthang plateau. The drive offers wide-open landscapes, wildlife sightings, and unmatched views of Ladakh’s raw beauty. Upon arrival, check into your guesthouse or camp. In the evening, you may opt to visit the Hanle Observatory, one of the highest observatories in the world, and enjoy breathtaking stargazing. Overnight stay in Hanle.
Today you travel through one of the world’s most remote and adventurous routes. The journey takes you across Mig La Pass, a stunning high-altitude stretch rising to 5,913 meters. The drive continues toward Fukche, a frontier region known for its dramatic landscapes and peaceful isolation. Spend your evening exploring this unique region before settling into your camp or guesthouse. Overnight stay in Fukche.
This day features one of the most iconic highlights of your Ladakh expedition—a drive to Umling La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world at over 19,300 feet. The feeling of standing at such an altitude surrounded by Himalayas is unforgettable. After your time at the summit, begin your journey back to Hanle. Overnight stay at guesthouse/camp in Hanle.
After breakfast, drive towards the stunning Tso Moriri Lake, known for its crystal-clear water and breathtaking natural setting. En route, enjoy views of the Changthang plateau dotted with nomadic settlements. Upon arrival, visit the beautiful Korzok Village and explore the Tso Moriri Wildlife Sanctuary, home to rare Himalayan species. Overnight stay near Tso Moriri Lake.
